Key_West

I had a day to look around Key West before the trip to the Dry Tortugas on Wednesday. I got the impression from the hotel that motorcycle (or any) parking would be difficult and public transportation was nearly non-existent. So I took off and walked into the old part of town - about a 4 mile walk. During the day I found that was really not true and checked out parking for early the next morning. Back to the hotel for the night and an ioverpriced New Orleans dinner at Bonnie and Clydes (Fantasy Week menu.) Day at the Dry Tortugas was great and spent the evening in the old town for very good dinner at Red Fish Blue Fish and sunset and enjoying the outrageous goings on for Fantasy Week.
I just wanted to ride the road to Key West and back, but it did seem a waste to go that far and not see much. I stayed three nights.

Interesting guy ran the Turtle Museum!! Composed songs most of the day and played dulcimer.
Wreck of a building where turtles were processed. This was rebuilt as museum.
Green turtle soup seemed to be the major export.
