Early morning wait for the bus to take us out to the Kennedy Space Center. I was there shortly after 6 am for the 5 pm launch. Our bus pulled out after 7.

Crowds in the gift shop - nearly impossible to buy anything.
Gift shop crowds.
Waiting again for the bus from the KSC out to the causeway. Buses left after 11 am.
Engel and I were bored and taking pictures of each other.
View of Discovery in the distance. We still had three hours to wait.
Engelbert's zoom brought it up close
Seemed like hundreds of buses and thousands of people. Actually a million were watching.
What camera settings were we going to use? Engel ended up with video and I did photo bursts.
The last few minures were incredibly exciting. The launch was nearly scrubbed at the 20 second mark.
It went into cloud coverage before the external tanks were jettisoned.
All over. Buses loaded quickly and we had 3 hours back to Orlando. All roads were clogged with the biggest number of viewers ever.
